The theatre provides a quintessential New England experience, in a building that was built in the !800’s and restored to new heights. Its truly unlike anywhere else we have ever played. A Concert to Benefit the Sandy Hook Elementary School System

Members of Downtown Hartford’s restaurant and bar community are working together to present a one-day music festival on January 27th, 2013 to raise funds in support of those affected by last month’s tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Presented as “Downtown Rocks for Newtown” the event will feature over 50 local, regional and national acts performing across 9 stages. The charity benefiting is the “Sandy Hook School Support Fund” through the United Way of Western Connecticut. Performing acts include Max Creek, Bronze Radio Return, The Alternate Routes, The Brew, The Kenny Mehler Band, The McLovins, Fear Nuttin’ Band, Joey Batts and Them, Forward Motion, Frank Viele and The Manhattan Project, The Savage Brothers, Echo & Drake, 1974, Gone By Daylight, Train Wreck Confidential, Brian Jarvis Trio, Project 7, To The Rescue, John Mayck and The Homesteaders, Branded, Skyline Drive, Sean Rivers, Al Diaz, Jamie’s Junk Show and Bloomer.

Hey everybody! We are going to start releasing videos every Wednesday, starting this coming Wednesday December 12. We want to keep things going, and we have a stock pile of exciting stuff to show you. This is a live version of Stay from the Quick Center. Eric playing the piano, (the instrument that the song was originally written on,) and Bobby Yang is featured on Violin; This becomes very apparent as the track goes on. Thanks to Bobby for a truly amazing interpretation. Hope your having a good Holiday season everybody.

Martin Sexton

The night before I headed to college in the fall of 2000. I played a festival called Moe Down, with my first band, which was called Slapped at Birth….... (I know) At the festival I was hanging out behind the main stage watching Les Claypool and I realized I was standing next to Martin Sexton. We only spoke for a minute or two, but I never forgot it. Earlier that day he had played his set on the main stage, and he captivated 1000s of people by himself armed only with his acoustic guitar, and a voice that rivals the best in the business. He’s been a hero ever since and I’m pleased to announce that in a few weeks we will be opening 6 shows with Martin Sexton. A great start to a very promising year.

The Quick Center

We are very excited to announce that we will be headlining the Quick Center at Fairfield University on October 19th. The show is part of Fairfield University’s Alumni and Family weekend, but is also open to the public.

The Quick Center has always been one of my favorite places to play. In fact, it is the first place that Tim and I ever played together. I remember being a senior in college and a girl came up to me at a party and said, “Hey, you’re that guitar player kid.” “I gave your number to my friend Tim. He’s a singer. He is going to call you.” Before I could respond she walked away. I remember thinking, “who was that girl and how did she have my number to give out to people?” A few days later I got a call from a guy named Tim who needed a guitar player to play a song with him at an event at The Quick Center.

We are going to be busy trying to make this the best AR show to date. Lots in the works. We don’t suggest this often, but if you ever wanted to take a road trip to see the band, this may be the one…..
The foliage around here is quite splendid in October.

Summer Shows & New Music

The Alternate Routes
have been writing and touring here and there, in preparation for a very busy fall season. We are excited to announce 4 shows in the Northeast, where we will be be road testing many songs for the upcoming album.

There is a new video on youtube featuring a new demo we made. The new song is called “What’s Not to Love,” and its a song that we are considering for the record so please check it out and let us know what you think

Its the middle of the summer, and I’m telling everyone about these shows and i hope you’ll do the same. There is even an afterparty at the Jammin Java Show, which is a first.
